But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.

John 16:13 - KJV (updated to modern English)

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV - updated to modern English) - the work of the Holy Spirit and Jesus making intercession at the right hand of God.

According as his divine power he has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue:  whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. *I like meekness better than gentleness as it ties back to “The meek shall inherit the earth,” and it implies great power under complete control to the point of gentleness.

For it is God who works within you to will and to do of his good pleasure. *I’m not an advocate of Free Will, and frankly those who prefer it want their lives driven by the depraved, and those who say God abides by man’s free will say God wants his people to be driven by fools.
