Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, so you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, (Ephesians 6:10-19)

And when he came to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, two demon possessed men came out of the tombs and met Jesus. They were exceedingly fierce, and prevented any man from passing.  And, they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” A good way off from them was an large herd swine feeding. So the devils urged Jesus, saying, “If you cast us out, let us go into the herd of swine. And Jesus said to them, “Go.” So when they came out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. (Matthew 8:28-32)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, less you die.” And the serpent said to the woman, “You shall not surely die: For God knows that in the day you eat out its fruit, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)
